First half of evening programming: efforts to be continued
Arcom regularly hears from viewers about their dissatisfaction with the times at which early evening programs are shown on television.
Channels are obliged to respect the schedules advertised in the press and on the Internet. From this point of view, the results of Arcom's observation of the first half of 2022 are an improvement on 2021. The average delay for all free-to-air national channels is now 2 minutes 49 seconds.
However, there are still major disparities from one channel to another, with four of them showing average delays in excess of five minutes between the announced program time and its diffusion.
In addition, viewers are often concerned about the increasingly late start times of television programs, a trend that seems to have been confirmed since the start of the new season. In this context, Arcom will be approaching publishers to discuss this issue with them.
