On December 7, 2022, the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication (Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuel et numérique) launched an invitation to tender for two national digital terrestrial television (DTT) services.

As part of this process, the Authority received three applications from the following companies:

  • Métropole Télévision for the "M6" project;
  • NJJ Projet 5523 for the "SIX" project;
  • Télévision française 1 for the "TF1" project.

At its meeting on Monday January 23, 2023, it declared the three applications admissible.

The candidates will be invited to a hearing on Wednesday February 15, 2023, for one and a half hours each, according to the following times established by drawing lots:

  • at 9:15 am: NJJ Project 5523 for the "SIX" project
  • 11:00 am: French Television 1 for the "TF1" project
  • 2.30pm: Métropole Télévision for the "M6" project.

The hearing, open to the public, was broadcast on the Arcom website.
