The Commission is evaluating the Audiovisual Media Services (AVMS) Directive and its implementation, and is working on a proposal to revise the text in line with the Directive. This is part of the Commission's work program for 2026, and is presented as a key action under the European Democracy Shield.

The aim of this public consultation is twofold:

  • I. to gather experience and views on the current AVMS Directive and its implementation;
  • II. to obtain feedback and/or assess the feasibility of possible options for its revision.
