Every month, digital terrestrial radio (DAB+) enters a new phase of deployment. New transmitters are regularly put into service to ensure ever finer coverage of the territory.

DAB+ radio (Digital Audio Broadcasting, the "+" corresponds to a development in the worldwide digital terrestrial radio (DTR) diffusion norms) complements FM diffusion, whose frequency band is now saturated.

Every year, new transmitters are put into service to ensure increasingly detailed coverage of the country. In mainland France, DAB+ now covers more than 50% of the population. All towns and cities in mainland France with more than 50,000 inhabitants are now covered, and 557 private and public radio stations show their programming on DAB+.

    How does DAB+ work?

From January 1 to September 30, 2023, Arcom had authorized a trial in the French overseas territories to show a multiplex of ten services from three sites in Martinique. On Reunion Island, more than twenty radio stations have been available on DAB+ since March 1, 2024.
