The French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom) and the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC) unveil a major joint communications campaign to strengthen the fight agains piracy of cinematic and audiovisual works.

While unlawful practices are steadily declining, they remain at a high level, with 9 million single visiters to illicit sites per month in 2022.

At a time when the illegal consumption of films and TV series is tending to decline, it is essential to continue our efforts, accompanied by awareness-raising initiatives aimed at the general public. This is the ambition of this communication campaign, which aims to promote legal supplies, encourage behavioural change and thank those who have already done so.

The Arcom-CNC campaign comprises a 30-second film to be shown on TV and in cinemas, two 20-second radio spots and three 15-second digital versions for platforms and social networks. Thanks to the commitment of the media and cinemas, the campaign will be shown on TV and in cinemas over the next few months, with the first runs starting in June. It will also be relayed on TV screens thanks to the support of all creative, audiovisual and digital players.

The campaign was developed by the Prodigious agency following a call for supplies, and produced by Bill Barluet. The tone of the campaign, which plays on humor and the absurd, is intended to thank the growing number of people who have opted for legal practices that respect cinematographic and audiovisual creation.

The campaign is now available on the Arcom and CNC websites and social networks.
