Biannual meeting of independent administrative and public authorities working in the field of economic regulation: an autumn 2024 edition focused on strengthening criminal proceedings
The Competition Authority was pleased to host today's meeting of independent administrative authorities (AAI) and independent public authorities (API) working in the field of economic regulation. Organized twice a year, this meeting is an essential platform for exchanges and coordination between these institutions, and for the effectiveness of economic regulation in France.
A round-table discussion covered the latest national and European developments for each authority. Digital sovereignty, public audiovisuel, the supervision of cryptocurrencies and the issue of digital mobility services were among the major topics discussed.
The meeting continued with a progress report on the work of the working group dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence by AAIs and APIs, launched at the previous meeting last June. The aim of this working group is to share participants' experiences and explore ways of pooling available means to better integrate artificial intelligence into their practices.
Strengthening the coherence and effectiveness of public policies
This biannual meeting illustrates the commitment of AAIs and APIs working in the field of economic regulation to combine their efforts to meet the common challenges they face, whether national or European. It is a key opportunity for them to reflect collectively on common challenges, share best practices and strengthen the effectiveness of their action.
This year's event brought together representatives from the French Competition Authority (ADLC), the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication (ARCOM), the French regulatory authority for electronic communications, postal services and press distribution (ARCEP), Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL), Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ), Commission de régulation de l'énergie (CRE), Autorité de régulation des transports (ART) and Haute autorité de l'audit (H2A).
The next edition of this meeting will be held in spring 2025.
