On January 9, Arcom adopted a new numbering system for DTT channels, following thecall for bidders launched on February 28, 2024, for national TV services to be shown on DTT. This will apply with effect from June 6, 2025, the date on which the Canal + Group's pay-TV channels will no longer be shown on DTT.

The new DTT channel numbering makes provision for several developments:

  • the allocation of channel 4 to France 4
  • channel 8 for LCP - French National Assembly / Public Senate
  • channel 12 for Gulli
  • the grouping of continuous news channels between channels 13 and 16 (channels 13, 14, 15 and 16 will be allocated to BFMTV, CNews, LCI and Franceinfo respectively)
  • the arrival of T18 on channel 18
  • the arrival of NOVO19 on channel 19 (September 1, 2025).

Two information screens are also being shown today on channels 8 and 12 to provide detailed information on the numbering changes.

The complete numbering plan is as follows:

1 TF1

Arcom opted for this new numbering system to make the DTT supply easier to understand, in the public interest.

What do these changes mean for viewers?

The vast majority of TV sets will automatically update their numbering on the night of June 5 to 6, 2025, or will propose it when they are switched on on June 6.

In rare cases, some users will have to manually perform a "rescan". In order to identify whether such an intervention is required, Arcom is now offering dedicated pages on its website for both private and professional users, indicating the steps to follow according to the reception mode (rake antenna, box, satellite, internet and applications).

In addition to offering a practical guide on its website, Arcom has posted a FAQ section to answer viewers' questions. The recevoirlatnt.fr website can also be browsed if necessary.

In the event of any difficulties encountered during the rescan operation, advisers from theAgence nationale des fréquences call center can be summoned on 0970 818 818 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm, and exceptionally on Saturday June 7, Sunday June 8 and Monday June 9, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm) to help users through the process step by step.

Through this scheme, Arcom is working alongside viewers to help them get to grips with the new numbering system.
