    Arcom's report aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the Authority's missions and its action to promote the ecological transition of the audiovisual and digital industries.

    Arcom supports audiovisual and digital operators in reducing the environmental footprint of their infrastructures and services, and analyzes the content they show - both programs and advertising - to assess their influence on individual and collective behaviors and representations.

    Arcom's missions

    Arcom has two main missions:

    Helping to reduce the environmental impact of the audiovisual and digital industries

    Through studies and notices (developed withArcep andADEME), Arcom works to measure this impact, and on this basis encourages services to reliably inform consumers and develop eco-designed digital and audiovisual services to reduce their impact.

    Mobilizing the media around environmental challenges

    Arcom works to reduce public exposure to commercial communications for products that are harmful to the environment, and to fight against greenwashing. The Authority also monitors the inclusion of environmental challenges in programs shown on audiovisual media services. Finally, Arcom ensures that media coverage of these issues is honest and rigorous.

    Arcom's action

    Arcom's action involves :

    • Documentation through studies, enabling us to share common, reliable data with the ecosystem;
    • Support for the ecosystem through notices and the provision of tools;
    • Raising public awareness through audiovisual services;
    • Monitoring the effectiveness of the actions implemented.
