From Monday, January 30 to Sunday, February 5, 2023, the "Sport Féminin Toujours" operation encourages the media to show more sports broadcasts on air, but also to tackle themes linked to women's practice of sport.

Arcom's missions include accompanying and anticipating developments in the representation of society in the audiovisuel landscape, in terms of diversity, the rights of women and public health. In this respect, the Authority is committed to promoting women's sports on French national and local radio and television channels.

In partnership with the Ministry of Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Gaming, and with the support of the Ministry for Equality between Women and Men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF), Arcom is renewing the "Sport Féminin Toujours" operation, which will run from Monday January 30 to Sunday February 5, 2023.

The theme chosen for the 2023 edition is "Sport as a remedy", to illustrate how the practice of sport can help the reconstruction, healing or emancipation of sportswomen.

The patron is French handball champion Cléopâtre Darleux.

Why this awareness-raising operation?

Media coverage and the promotion of women's sport not only help to anchor women's participation in sport, but also raise the question of equal representation and gender equality in certain events. They also contribute to the development of sporting activities by encouraging women, young and old alike, to take up or resume physical activity.

Conference to launch the "Sport Féminin Toujours" 2023 operation

In the presence of the French Minister for Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, and the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Equality between women and men, Isabelle Lonvis-Rome, Arcom President Roch-Olivier Maistre launched the 2023 edition of "Sport Féminin Toujours" at a press conference held at Arcom headquarters on Thursday January 26.

Analysis of the weight of women's sports competition broadcast on television between 2018 and 2021

To get a better idea of how representative women's sports are on television, Arcom has measured the share of women's, mixed and men's sports competition shows in the total volume of sports broadcasting on television between 2018 and 2021.

Television and radio programming and schemes

"Sport Féminin Toujours" has become an annual event designed to give fresh impetus to the feminization of sport, anchor women's sport in the mainstream and encourage diversity in the range of sports broadcast. Arcom isencouraging the media to include not only more sports broadcasts, but also more subjects, programs and interviews devoted to women's sport.

In 2023, a large number of media, both general and specialized, national and local, are contributing to the operation. Once again this year, TV channels and radio stations will be covering women's sport from a variety of angles, particularly during the week of the operation. Editors have been invited to send Arcom their planned programming.

Below you'll find the programming announced by the channels (updated as and when required, based on contributions from publishers).
