    The Arcom study takes stock of the consumption of animated works by the French in 2024, in order to understand their practices and identify the media chosen to consume this content.

    Which French people watch animation? How often? On which platforms? And what does the future hold for French animation?

    The Arcom study has three objectives:

    • To take stock of French consumption of animated works
    • Identify the factors determining the media chosen
    • Examine children's consumption in a context of parental control

    Almost three-quarters of French people watch animation (72% of French people aged 15 and over, and 98% of children aged 4 to 14).

    35% of French people who consume animation do so on the YouTube platform.

    French audiovisual works occupy an important place in the animation supply on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT).

    Study presentation

    The Arcom study on the supply and consumption of animation in France was presented by Arcom member Antoine Boilley, chairman of the Authority's "Audiovisual, Cinematographic and Musical Creation and Production" working group, on Thursday June 12, during the Annecy Animation Film Festival, at the Marché international du film d'animation(MIFA).
